James Agiesta is a veteran showrunner, executive producer, and Executive in Charge of Production with more than 15 years leading large-scale unscripted television from development through production and delivery. Originally from Long Island, he got his start in television as a production assistant at VH-1 and worked his way up through the ranks, ultimately becoming an executive producer. Along the way, he spent years at 3Ball Entertainment helping lead major unscripted franchises and complex productions across broadcast, cable, and streaming.

His credits span long-running franchises, competition, lifestyle, and documentary formats, including Bar Rescue, Grand Cayman: Secrets in Paradise, Hungry Investors, Come Dance With Me, and The Final Hunt for DB Cooper. On Bar Rescue alone, James worked across 280+ episodes and multiple iterations of the franchise, moving from Executive in Charge of Production to Executive Producer.

James is equally comfortable in the field, on a stage, behind a budget, or figuring out how to execute an idea everyone else says is impossible. His production experience spans union and non-union environments, domestic and international shoots, complex logistics, talent and vendor negotiations, and managing multiple productions at once. He also works closely with creative and development teams to pressure-test ideas early and translate a great concept into something that can actually be produced.

A working producer, director, and production executive, James stepped into feature documentary with This Is Wrestling, serving as Executive Producer and Director. The film earned him Best Director at the IFS Los Angeles Film Festival and became an early example of the character-driven nonfiction storytelling that now informs Beachtown’s work.
